Light

Thought I’d quickly write something on the picture I drew below

The light forever shines

stunningly bright, we find,

as we lay in the grass

each strand welcomes us past.

In it’s glory discover

not the sun not the father

rather the ocean glows

reflecting only to show

a transformation of life

a new sacrifice

it’s particles cleansed so pure

as it sparkles to allure.

Footprints are left now
sand staining black now
in deserts I find
for water I cry.
Leaves they are crunching
people they’re leaving
around my two feet
my eyes they now weep
till the sun it falls
eyes wait for your call
waiting listening
waiting just giving-
up to the world
so screaming minds whirl
with my nemesis
lost are promises.
Embrace delilah
remember father
as I sit and cringe
dine with the pigs.
But look out beyond
all my dreams long gone
oh look out and see
past the me and me
the walls closing in
the counting the trying
see the horizon
the sun has risen
a sigh of relief
your voice is beneath
my every step now
to teach why and how
the desert behind me
has one pair of feet;
carried on your back
through dark and black.
Fingers they dance now
voice calling out now
only for you,
resounding just to
watch you smile there
hear your voice where-
ever you go
is where this heart flows.
Along the fretboard
see their passion soar
sway back and forth
in shine and in storm.

“How great it must have been, long ago, when the world was still unknown.”
- Shaun Tan ; Tales from outer suburbia.
How great it must have been, long ago, when the world was still unknown…
When the world was still flat…
When the undiscovered swirled
before our minds to unfurl
their beauty as we would gaze
and smile on their lovely ways.
Before only us they danced,
with eyes closed and entranced
imaginations swivel
in circles they unravel
they say ignorance is bliss
if only you could see this
heart pounding to discover
what you hide in and under
your soul oh so beautiful
are our eyes deep as whirlpools.

Was about to head off to bed but realised I couldn’t without doing this one last quick thing.
I took this photo in Indonesia.
And just felt like I had to write this quickly.
Unnamed.
My chocolate melts while
his lips crack in a smile.
I still don’t get how
sweat can line his brow
as he’d beg for cash
as he’d search in trash
while grease builds here now
from excess food how
I worry ‘bout providing
when he’s just striving
yet he’s still smiling
yet he’s still laughing
while I passed him by
while I didn’t even try.
What happens when storms
and waves leave him torn
it still breaks my heart
that I could depart
I took the picture
and was convicted
saw we look the same
he remains unnamed.
That’s it.
Goodnight!
